The Farms
Proceeds from PHX Pheast directly support Community Food Connection’s Small Farm Fund, which provides grants to our Downtown Phoenix Farmers Market growers for farm projects that have positive impacts on local food systems, agricultural diversity, and the environment. CFC believes that providing small, manageable grants can have big impact on the local food system. Small farms are catalysts for greater food access, sustainability, and economic self-sufficiency. This grant helps farmers in the coming season by funding projects such as (but not limited to) seed and supply needs, farm infrastructure, and community engagement.
Al Hamka Farm, Farmer Hussein Al Hamka
In 2007 Hussein Al Hamka and his family abandoned their 75-acre farm in Iraq. After spending two years in a refugee camp in Syria they resettles in Phoenix in 2009 with the help of International Rescue Committee. Growing in South Phoenix and in the west Valley, Hussein grows specialty varieties of vegetables including his famous cucumbers and melons.

Blue Sky Organic Farm, CCOF, Farmer David Vose and Sara Dolan
Blue Sky Organic Farms is a family farm located in Litchfield, AZ. They have been farming in sunny Arizona since 1995. They grow 100% of the produce they offer at the market and are proud to be Certified Organic. When you purchase from Blue Sky Organic Farms, you can rest assured that their produce has been grown with your health in mind. Blue Sky Organic Farm uses organic, non-gmo, and untreated seed. Their produce is cultivated in accordance to the federal standards set by the USDA National Organic Program. They are certified by California Certified Organic Farmers (CCOF).
Community Exchange Table
Established in 2008 Community Exchange Table is a co-operative community booth that represents multiple smaller growers, agriculturists and artisans. It allows businesses to sell their surplus produce or goods to the community while relieving the stress of staffing, equipment and processes for selling. They represent farms such as Hadley Farmship, Holiday Farm and Arrandale Farms.
Golo Family Farm, Farmer James & Jawn Golo
Golo Organic Family Farms was established in September 2009 through the kind assistance of the International Rescue Committee. The program is designed to help refugee farming families achieve food security, self-sufficiency and economic empowerment through their agricultural businesses. The Golos now farm on their property in Litchfield, Arizona and are currently raising funds for a new well.

Maya's Farm, CCOF, Farmer Maya Dailey
Maya's Farm is a small, family enterprise owned by Maya Dailey. Maya attributes her success to the support of local, chef-owned restaurants, metropolitan farmer’s markets and loyal CSA members. Before she began to nurture crops, Maya’s interest was nurturing people. She entered nursing school after obtaining a bachelor’s degree in biology and geology. Microbiology became her favorite subject, which was to provide a valuable scientific foundation for growing tasty, healthful food. The giant step into full-time urban farming came in 2006. An opportunity arose to take over market-farm production at The Farm at South Mountain. From a quarter-acre garden, Maya’s Farm grew to one and one-quarter acres, all in one year. Early in 2009 the farm expanded to two acres. Maya’s Farm produce has earned the CNG (Certified Naturally Grown) seal and is CCOF Certified Organic. In 2016 Maya became her own independent farm in South Phoenix.

Nestled in the city of Phoenix, amongst the bustle of a sprawling metropolis there is a two-acre farm. It is a place of serenity, where time has no meaning and nature flourishes. This is Arrandale Farms, a unique urban farm that is focused on growing and producing nutrient dense food for their local community.
Crooked Sky Farms, Farmer Frank Martin
Crooked Sky Farms, located in Phoenix, is owned by Frank Martin. Farmer Frank had always dreamed of becoming a farmer after working closely with his father in the sixties in the fields. After ending his career in trucking to pursue his dream, in 1994, Frank became a farmer and Crooked Sky Farms was born. Embracing the teachings of his dad, a Native American migrant farm worker, Frank continues the Native American traditions of using: Heirloom seeds, natural care for the soil, crop rotation, and other sustainable farming practices. He believes in the "Stewardship of the Land," where first priority always remains taking good care of the land, plants, animals, and people. Today, Crooked Sky Farms spans across approximately 420 acres. Parcels that comprise the farm located in Phoenix, Glendale, and Duncan, Arizona. Duncan provides a cooler 3500-foot elevation higher than Phoenix which allows Farmer Frank to provide produce year-round to our customers.
Horny Toad Farm, Farmer Stella McPhee
Horny Toad Farm is a woman owned, family farm right here in Phoenix! Farmer Stella grows her produce using all natural growing methods and her farm is pesticide-free. She believes in bringing nutritious healthy food to people – which she does through several farmers markets and a Farm Sack CSA Program with pickup locations throughout the valley.
Southwest Mushrooms, Grower Michael Crowe

Steadfast Farm, CCOF, Farmer Erich Schultz
Steadfast Farm is a two acre bio-intensive market farm in Mesa, AZ next to the Eastmark Park. Farmer Erich Schultz grows a large variety of vegetables and flowers on a small amount of land to keep his operation manageable and productive. Their pastured poultry are raised for their eggs year round. Steadfast Farm offer produce and eggs through their CSA program, farmers markets and local restaurants. Farmer Erich also stays busy teaching and consulting on topics of profitable small-scale farming.
